Adding Notes for a Shipment

Add a note when you need to add extra information to a shipment, such as delivery instructions, handling notes, or internal context for your team. Notes help ensure the shipment includes the right instructions and can be reviewed later when needed.

Steps to add a note to a shipment

1. Open the shipment

Go to the shipment you want to update and open its details so you can add more information to the record.

2. Find the notes section

Within the shipment details, go to the area where shipment notes can be added or reviewed.

3. Add the note

Enter the note or delivery instruction you want attached to the shipment. This can be used to capture important context for delivery or handling. The Scribe guide describes this as adding specific delivery instructions to help ensure the package is delivered correctly.

4. Review the note

Double-check the note for accuracy before saving. This helps avoid confusion for anyone referencing the shipment later.

5. Save the update

Save the shipment after entering the note so the information is stored with the shipment record.

6. Confirm the note is visible

After saving, verify that the note appears in the shipment record so it can be referenced when needed.

What happens next

After adding a note, you can usually move on to:

  • reviewing shipment details

  • adding tracking or label information

  • checking product details

  • using the note as reference during fulfillment or delivery follow-up

Tips for a smoother workflow

  • Keep notes short and specific.

  • Use notes for delivery instructions or important shipment context.

  • Avoid duplicate or outdated notes.

  • Review saved notes before generating labels or sharing shipment details with your team.
