Generating a Label

Manage details before generatins a label. This process ensures the shipment label includes the relevant data before shipping.

 

 

Steps to generate a label

1. Open the shipment label tab

From the shipment list, click on the Shipment you want to update. This opens the shipment so you can add the remaining shipping and label details. 

2. Select a warehouse

Choose the appropriate Warehouse for the shipment. This helps ensure the shipment is processed from the correct origin location. 

3. Select a shipment service

Choose the Shipment Service for the shipment. The Scribe shows this selection being made across multiple steps, which suggests you may review or confirm service-related options before continuing. 

4. Customize the label

Use the available option to Customize a Label if needed. This is useful when you want the label to include additional shipment-specific information. 

5. Add a reference to print on the label

Enter the Reference information you want printed on the label. The guide repeats this across several steps, which likely means you can add or review multiple reference fields before saving. 

6. Select the label size

Choose the Label Size to Print based on your shipping and printer requirements. 

7. Save your changes

Click Save to keep the shipment details and label settings you entered. 

8. Create and download the label

Click Create & Download Label to generate the shipment label and download it for printing or use in your fulfillment workflow. 

 

What happens next

After creating and downloading the label, you can usually move on to:

  • printing the label

  • attaching it to the shipment

  • tracking the shipment

  • reviewing shipment details for confirmation

 

Tips for a smoother workflow

  • Confirm the correct Warehouse before selecting the shipment service.

  • Double-check the Shipment Service to avoid delivery or pricing issues.

  • Use Reference fields consistently so labels are easier to identify.

  • Review the Label Size before generating the final label.

  • Save your changes before creating and downloading the label.
